My beater car was in the shop today so I took the Integra to work. After work, I walked out to my car in the parking lot and saw a piece of paper under my wiper. I thought it was a ticket but the paper said "Please see Security office". Then I notice my alarm LED was triggered but didn't see any damage on my car.
I went to the Security office at my work. They told me the car alarm siren was on and they went to the scene and saw some people inside my car and the hood was open. They said there was at least 2 people. The security officer walked to my car. I opened it up and noticed my glove box is broken, center dash console is broken, and under my hood the wires to my siren are cut. The thieves got away but the security officer said the surveillance camera got a shot of them. I asked if they can get finger prints but the security officer said police don't do that for an incident like this.
I don't know how the thieves got into my car. My power door locks are rewired so a slim jim won't unlock the doors. I'm thinking they used a master key or some kind of entry using a filed-down key. Even though the thieves cut the siren wires, the secondary siren was still active. I did not see any broken glass or damage on the exterior, all my lug nuts were tight, my tires still had good air, my hood looks undamaged. Only the interior dash got messed up. Hopefully, the video tape is enough to catch the thieves but I'm having doubts. The interior looks fixable, I'm working on it right now.

dont you have a 2 way DEI alarm? rewiring the door lock rods.. a stiff rod and pulling the window out pushing the button will open it, or the legendary "master filed key" through vin or master locksmith skills.
i would disable the door lock buttons on door panels. remove keyhole entry and use door poppers BUT im sure you have keyless entry so remove them key cylinders!!
Nevin i would also like to see the tape which i dont think i would be allowed to. i bet 1 of them guys are from the Reading Honda on Lancaster Ave or this rinky dink shop in MT Penn.

DAMN!!! That's Fucked up!!! Lucky your car is still there and the alarm did it's job!!! Let me know if u need help finding parts or whatever...give me a call then if u want. Your fuel pump kill save your car also I think! Reading sucks, that's why I will never park my car in the city. Let me know next time so u can borrow one of my cars.......

I'd rather not say what part of Reading I work in because I'm not sure who lurks around this forum and could find me. I have to drive through the city to get to my work so it might have been possible for someone to follow me. I don't think the security guards were in on it, they are old white guys and they are clueless about modified cars. Also, they told me there have been a couple break-ins in the last several months. Thieves stole CD players and misc stuff in the car. This probably explains why they tried to open my glovebox (which I keep locked).
I got everything fixed the best I could. My glovebox and center console will rattle if I go over bumps but I guess I'll have to live with that. I really would hate to sell my car because of thieves. Even if they did steal the car, it is fully insured so I would get reimbursed. Plus, I have no idea what other car I would want besides another Honda/Acura but it would have to be a 2002+ model because the older Honda/Acuras can be stolen easily. I don't want to spend more than $7k on another car so getting another Honda/Acura is probaby out of the question. I'd consider getting a 240sx like Joel's [img]smile.gif[/img]
my 00 civic got broken into 2 weeks ago while i was at work. they used the "pull back window" method. took my head unit and my gauges that were on the a pillar. i try not to drive it to work, but i had to that one day.
I also hate Reading. Theft is getting terrible. It seems like there is nothing to do to stop it. It is such a shame that you can't even drive your car and park it anywhere without worrying about it getting stolen or messed with. I'm sorry to hear about your incident, but at least you kinda got lucky. My whole car was stolen a couple weeks ago. (I had $12K into it) Still waiting to find out what is gonna get covered by insurence. It sucks so bad. I probably had around 300 hours working on my car. I miss it.
